When I began my career with Carolina Tree Care 25 years ago, I started as a ground man and worked my way up to climber, foreman, area manager, general manager, and eventually president. Today I’m writing to you as the Chair of the TCIA Board of Directors.
What is TCIA? The Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) is a trade association of 2,300 tree care firms and affiliated companies worldwide and was established in 1938 as the National Arborist Association. Our mission is to advance tree care businesses.
TCIA develops safety and education programs, standards of tree care practice, and management information for tree and landscape firms around the world. We provide continuing education, training, conferences, and publications to promote the safe and appropriate practice of tree care.
Coincidentally, TCIA EXPO was first held 25 years ago. Since its inception in 1990, it has worked its way up from modest beginnings to the world’s largest tree care industry trade show and conference. And it just keeps getting better.
Now, as we celebrate our silver anniversary, I would like to personally invite you and your team to join us in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for TCIA EXPO 2015, November 12-14.
A lot has changed in our industry since the ‘90s, but TCI EXPO has always remained at the forefront of tree care. With innovative education sessions and a show floor packed with the latest tools, trends, and technology in the industry, TCIA Expo provides unparalleled value to anyone in the business of tree care.
As this year’s Chair, I look forward to celebrating 25 years of business, safety, arboriculture and equipment with you and your crew at TCI EXPO in Pittsburgh this fall.
